With the new year comes the resolutions we make for our own lives. Promises to be better than we were. But do not forget to make New Year’s resolutions for your RV as well! There are plenty of goals to strive for when it comes to your RV whether it is travel plans, caring for your RV, or simply taking more care for keeping it tidy, there are always something to do better!

1. Save More Fuel

There are many ways you can work towards saving money over the year on fuel. You can achieve this through a few careful strategies such as planning your trip’s travel plans well in advance, taking only the most efficient routes for your destinations. Reducing weight can also help improve fuel efficiency so decluttering and removing anything that is not used regularly or essential can go a long way over a year of adventures.

It is easy to neglect your RV’s cleanliness, especially when you spend all day outside in the nice summer weather. Start your mornings by cleaning anything left around inside or outside the RV, ensuring it is ready to handle whatever the day throws at you. Nothing is more welcoming than an RV after a long day hiking with everything where it should be.

3. Respect Nature

Not that you don’t already, but it is always worth keeping in mind. Consider when you are out at campsites or boondocking to not only clean up after yourself, but any waste you come across. You visit national parks, lookouts, and other destinations to see nature at its best, and others of course deserve that opportunity too.

4. Make Friends With Neighbours

Next time you find yourself at a campsite, don’t be afraid to say hello to those you are around. The world is a small place and they could have much more in common with you than you might think! It also doesn’t hurt to be familiar with them when you are out of toilet paper!

When you are travelling long distances, you will find local markets vary depending on what the local crop is. This is a great time to try new foods, new recipes, or diversify your cooking skills with fresh and delicious ingredients. Using local and fresh produce is usually cheaper while more delicious to boot!

6. Stay In Shape While On The Road

When RVing you might not have access to your favourite gym and will be far from your home gym, but do not make that as a reason to neglect staying active. Bring weights and other easy to store equipment when you can to ensure you get the exercise you need. You will not regret it, even if your vacation is meant for relaxation. You body will thank you every day for it!
